It is a free splitter built into every CX3 and above Clariion. It mirrors the writes that are being protected by RecoverPoint and sends a copy of the write to the RecoverPoint Appliance (RPA). The RPA does all of the heavy lifting and is "out-of-band" and what allows you to do all of the features of RecoverPoint from creating point in time bookmarks you can scroll through with instantaneous access to your replica data at any point in time.
